- we hunt the dead

Emily Dickinson
December 10, 1830 – May 15, 1886
West Cemetery - Amherst, MA

Emily Dickinson is considered by many to be one of the most important and influential American poets of the 19th Century.  Despite this, little is known about the details of her life.

Her family plot is easy to spot in the cemetery - it is surrounded by a large black wrought iron gate.

Plaque on gate.

Factoid:   Emily's last words were: "I must go in, for the fog is rising."
