Julius Caesar
July 12 or July 13, 100 or 102 BC – March 15, 44 BC
Roman Forum - Rome, Italy

Julius Caesar was one of if not the most important man in Roman history.  He was a military and political leader during a critical time in her history, and helped transform her from a republic into an empire.  His legendary life and death have been subjects of literature for centuries and will no doubt continue to be for many centuries to come.

Once you enter the Roman Forum, this site is hard to miss.  It is believed that Caesar's ashes were scattered beneath this rock which is behind the rock wall seen above.  You can walk just behind the rock wall but a fence prevents anyone from climbing on or too near the rock itself.

Don't rush out of the Forum without checking out all the other amazing things it has to offer!

Factoid:    It is believed that the mythological Norse king Kjárr is based on Caesar.
