- we hunt the dead

Robert Pastorelli
June 21, 1954 – March 8, 2004
Saint Catharine's - Sea Girt, NJ

Robert Pastorelli was one of Hollywood's many character actors - in the background of our favorite movies but never the leading man - starring in such films as Dances With Wolves, Beverly Hills Cop II, Fern Gully: The Last Rainforest, Michael and Outrageous Fortune.  He may have been most well-known for his character Eldin Bernecky on television's Murphy Brown.

Robert's final resting place was not easy for us to find the first time around.  We arrived ill-prepared and late in the day, and actually gave up on our first visit - we had absolutely nothing to go on and no one to help us.  This caused the actor to become the "Holy Grail" of our first true trek.  However, we did not give up and finally visited during office hours and were helped by some friendly groundskeepers.

He is intered in the cemetery's mausoleum - "Resurrection Mausoleum" - near Section 49.  Look for the floor marker shown below, hang a left, and walk to the end of the aisle.

If you're planning on bring flowers of any kind, make sure they're artificial - they frown upon real flowers in the mausoleum.

Factoid:   Mr. Pastorelli was a boxer before persuing his acting career on stage.
